How long can mice droppings be dangerous for?

I moved a dresser in my room and think I found some mice droppings underneath the dresser. I know about the virus it causes but I'm curious to how long that disease can take place for? if the droppings were there say 2 months ago and i havent gotten sick yet, does that mean im ok? the disease isnt there?
