How long does it take a mouse to find a mouse trap?

I found a mouse in my room and came to a conclusion it is hiding in my closet, because that's where all of its droppings are found. I have a feeling it has climbed to the top of my closet because I've moved all the stuff that was on the floor. I then put a regular mouse trap with peanut butter near the poop area and one in the middle of my room. It's been almost two hours already and no progress. My door is closed and the space under the door is sealed. I am anxious to get this little crap because I can't leave the house or rest until I know it is gone.
